I architect agentic AI, secure software, and distributed systems that ship to production — and teach the next generation of engineers to build them.
I architect agentic AI, secure software, and distributed systems that ship to production — and teach the next generation of engineers to build them.
I'm Priyal Walpita — a software architect and Founder & CTO of The Fine Qubit. For over twenty years I've designed and shipped systems where artificial intelligence, security, and large-scale distributed computing meet.
Today my focus is agentic AI: autonomous, tool-using systems that move real work forward in production. Previously, as CTO of ZorroSign, I led engineering for blockchain-backed digital signatures and forensics-ready token technology trusted across regulated industries.
I also teach. As a visiting lecturer at the University of Colombo School of Computing, I cover information security, secure software systems, blockchain, and reverse engineering — and I founded the Colombo Secure Programming Community to grow safer engineering practice. I hold a Stanford Machine Learning certification and an MSc in Information Security.
The Fine Qubit
2025 — Present
An agentic-AI studio shipping production systems, plus fractional-CTO work across agentic automation, RAG, LLMOps, and AI security. Built a fleet of 12 specialized AI coding agents that cut delivery time by 80%.
Co-founded a privacy-first, AI-powered document-intelligence & e-signature platform. Owned the AI/ML roadmap — agents, RAG, guardrails, LLM tuning — plus blockchain-backed document forensics.
Xyicon
2023 — 2024
Led technology and distributed-systems architecture for a multi-tenant SaaS platform. Built the 2D/3D engine that turns PDF floor plans into interactive, measurable views, plus a configurable formula-field calculation engine.
UCSC
2018 — Present
Teaching information security and secure software engineering, and mentoring students in blockchain development and smart contracts.
Advisory and hands-on engagements for founders and engineering teams crossing into AI — without losing security or scale.
Design and review of production AI: agentic workflows, LLM integration, RAG, evals, and an AI strategy that survives contact with reality.
Threat modeling, AI guardrails, code & architecture security reviews, and forensics-ready, defensible system design.
Architecture, technical roadmap, hiring, and engineering-org design for founders and scaling teams who need senior judgment.
Hands-on corporate workshops and university-grade courses on AI engineering, secure coding, blockchain, and reverse engineering.
I speak and teach on AI architecture, secure software, and the shift to agentic systems — at conferences, inside companies, and at universities.
